Gratitude Attitude

I know a lot has been written about the power of gratitude to change one’s life. Even so, I don’t think anyone can ever say too much about it. Practicing gratitude for everything in your life is at the foundation of a spiritual existence.

We come from Source. Source is our source. And the source of everything in our lives, including what we have, what we think, how we live, and what we allow into our consciousness. Everything that flows into our lives comes as a result of the law of attraction.

This law of attraction could just as easily be called “Resonance.”  If you put two pianos in a room that are properly tuned, and you play the middle C note on one piano, you will see that the string for middle C is also vibrating on the other piano.  That is because the two strings resonate to each other.  The activation of one automatically activates the other.

Just as the strings on the piano vibrate, and therefore resonate to each other, our thoughts vibrate and resonate to the corresponding situations. Thoughts of gratitude bring more things to be grateful for. Thoughts of lack attract more thoughts which are conscious of how much we lack, and therefore create or attract more situations of lack.

Gratitude is probably the most important thing you can start with if you want to improve the circumstances of your life. Be grateful that you have air to breathe, that you can read, that there are so many wonderful things in this life to explore.

I am in the process of finishing my new book about gratitude  ( I call it Gratitude Attitude), which I hope will be published within a few months.  The wonderful thing about working on this book, is that it keeps me in a state of awareness of the importance of gratitude and of how much I have to be grateful for.

I have visited some of the poorest areas in the world, and I guarantee that if you are in a first world country, you have much to be grateful for. There are so many people in the world who do not even have the most basic needs met. And those of us in the modern countries who have our basic needs met have much to be grateful for. Expressing gratitude for even the smallest thing such as enough food to eat, will help bring more things into your life for which you can express gratitude.

Think of five things every day that you are grateful for. Write them down. And express thanks that these are in your life.

Attitude is Everything

Below is a four-minute video about how our attitude is the basis for our thoughts, which aggregate and become beliefs. The beliefs become the framework for our reality. Our attitude generates the emotions that color and fill in the framework with a “reality” that seems quite solid, tough it is but an illusion.

Change your attitude — change the illusion.

Thanksgiving – George Winston

Once again we are celebrating Thanksgiving in the United States. It is a long tradition of turkey, stuffing and various casseroles consumed by various families with different traditions. Eating too much, taking a nap and perhaps a family squabble or two thrown in.

I like the idea of stopping and appreciating, being grateful for how wonderful our lives are. We have created this complex illusion out of consciousness. We should express our gratitude for this reality we’ve created — the joyous parts and the parts that have given us pause. The negative parts show us what we don’t want so we can work on creating differently.

All of our creation is a testament to our magnificence and the magnificence of Consciousness.

I invite you to watch/listen to this beautiful music video and think of the many things in your life for which you can give your thanks.

New Moon Eclipse — Gratitude Ritual

Today is the New Moon, the time for new beginnings. There is also an Annular Solar Eclipse today. Eclipses bring change. New beginnings are a form of change. The eclipse should add more power and energy to changes and rituals.

It is the perfect time to plant the seeds of your future. I suggest you perform a New Moon Prosperity ritual every New Moon if possible. It is the most powerful if you do it within 24 hours after the New Moon.

One of the best things you can do if you are wanting to manifest more is to be grateful for what you have. The act of sincere gratitude, appreciation and thanks focuses your attention on your blessings and bounty. As you know by now, you get more of what you focus upon.

As part of my process, I made some Blank Prosperity Checks to use to write checks from the Universe to myself. I made them look like the bank checks we are accustomed to seeing. There are three checks on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. Here is what they look like: Continue reading

Thanksgiving – Time for Gratitude and Appreciation

It is wonderful to know that we celebrate a holiday dedicated to giving thanks for the blessings in our lives. In this day and age, when everyone is multiplexing and trying to occupy their minds with massive amounts of busy-ness, people rarely stop and take the time to breathe deeply and give thanks for their blessings.

All of us have many blessings in our lives, starting with the fact that we can draw breath, think, feel and perceive the world around us. We are Source itself, capable of anything and everything.

John Demartini says that gratitude is the key that opens up the gateway to the human heart. He reminds us that people who count their blessings have more to be grateful for.

This Abraham video, recorded in November of 2007 does a good job of explaining the awesome power of appreciation.

A Heartfelt Thank You

I am grateful for many positive things, experiences and people in my life and would like to take this opportunity to give a big heartfelt thank you to:

  • My boss who fired me from a potential lifetime of gray cubicles and bad coffee.
  • My last boyfriend who prompted me to leave the dating world and go on a nine year journey of learning to love myself.
  • The 15 extra pounds on my butt that helped cushion a few falls and prevent several major injuries over the years.
  • Former friends who decided to end our association because I decided to live a life I could be proud of.
  • My family who fought my decision to be a spiritual/energy practitioner – they pushed me to live my truth and prove them wrong.
  • Sexists and racists everywhere who made me look deeper at who I am and realize that their beliefs belonged right where they came from.
  • The Bush Administration for making me further understand where the true source of freedom is – within me.
  • The outdoor experience of camping – I will NEVER give up my right to choose five star resorts and hotels again.
  • The days of the Milli Vanilli when scandals and lies were ridiculous but didn’t cost people their lives.
  • The endless date which included a bad movie, awful food, and worse conversation – you know why.
  • People who constantly talk about mindless subjects, TV shows, and the latest star gossip – they always make me appreciate the silence.
  • My friends who showed me I can always rely on myself despite their actions, resentments, jealousies, and apathies.
  • My gym teacher who got high during school hours, my math teacher who resented the world and took it out on me and my fellow students, the two teachers who flaunted their affair in front of us, my second grade teacher who believed in our possibilities, the hippie nun who didn’t wear a bra and used music to inspire us. What an introduction to both the gritty and wonderful possibilities life had to offer.
  • Another boyfriend who showed me to always make sure my needs were also met in all of my relationships.
  • The elephant who charged my car and made me appreciate the concept of “your life flashing in front of you.”
  • The scrapes, falls, muscle cramps, and burning I experienced every time I climbed a mountain and saw the world displayed below.
  • The doctor who told me that I had acute bursitis in my hip and would have take steroids the rest of my life – he started me on my journey to discovering alternative health. After two Feldenkrais sessions my hip never hurt again. And they say doctors know everything!
  • Spirit who continually allows me to learn my lessons.
  • My ability to laugh at myself and life every chance I can get – we can’t take our lives too seriously.
  • Me for learning how to handle my lessons as effortlessly and easily as possible.

Learning to Adore Life

Lately, I’ve been getting lots of lessons about life. I’ve been experiencing a cash flow issue. As a result, I got down on myself and started feeling like a failure. When I get in that space, I often think I must be such a disappointment to others and I feel embarrassed. I was feeling stuck and unable to get out of it. I was sure others were handling things better than me.

But then, I ended up talking to several people I know over the past four days. One of them has manifested a big crisis that drained her resources. Another found her child support and pay at work both reduced recently. She said she wants to someday have a nice house and car like me.

And yet another has gotten a surprise increase in her credit card interest and minimum payment that makes her wonder if she can continue to pay. Another person is losing their house in foreclosure and already lost the car.

Loving the Negative

I am advocating loving the negative that happens in your life. Is the that provocative to you? I’m not talking about getting into negative thinking. I’m not promoting pessimism. I surely don’t encourage people to head for the “dark side” of the Force. No ‘666’ devil-worship or proving to people what a bad-ass you are.

But I AM talking about loving and appreciating the negative situations that show up in your life. No … not the ‘oh I wish I could have more of this pain’ kind of appreciation. No masochism, please. I’m talking about the kind of appreciation we show for a good teacher. We’ve all had teachers who were hard on us, who pushed us beyond our perceived limits and expected more of us than we wanted to give. In the end, we came to respect and appreciate them for pushing us into being better versions of ourselves.

That pain-in-the-neck co-worker or family member, that disease or money problem is your teacher. Continue reading

Gratitude Attitude

It is the real secret behind “The Secret.” That’s why you will see many articles here in the future that focus on Gratitude from many different points of view.

I believe that feeling true Gratitude is the same as feeling true unconditional love. Gratitude is the egoless state of feeling how blessed you are by Source.

Gratitude puts your attention on what is right with your life. It helps you focus on the good things. You always manifest more of what you focus your attention on. That is the Law of Attraction.
