Gratitude Attitude

I know a lot has been written about the power of gratitude to change one’s life. Even so, I don’t think anyone can ever say too much about it. Practicing gratitude for everything in your life is at the foundation of a spiritual existence.

We come from Source. Source is our source. And the source of everything in our lives, including what we have, what we think, how we live, and what we allow into our consciousness. Everything that flows into our lives comes as a result of the law of attraction.

This law of attraction could just as easily be called “Resonance.”  If you put two pianos in a room that are properly tuned, and you play the middle C note on one piano, you will see that the string for middle C is also vibrating on the other piano.  That is because the two strings resonate to each other.  The activation of one automatically activates the other.

Just as the strings on the piano vibrate, and therefore resonate to each other, our thoughts vibrate and resonate to the corresponding situations. Thoughts of gratitude bring more things to be grateful for. Thoughts of lack attract more thoughts which are conscious of how much we lack, and therefore create or attract more situations of lack.

Gratitude is probably the most important thing you can start with if you want to improve the circumstances of your life. Be grateful that you have air to breathe, that you can read, that there are so many wonderful things in this life to explore.

I am in the process of finishing my new book about gratitude  ( I call it Gratitude Attitude), which I hope will be published within a few months.  The wonderful thing about working on this book, is that it keeps me in a state of awareness of the importance of gratitude and of how much I have to be grateful for.

I have visited some of the poorest areas in the world, and I guarantee that if you are in a first world country, you have much to be grateful for. There are so many people in the world who do not even have the most basic needs met. And those of us in the modern countries who have our basic needs met have much to be grateful for. Expressing gratitude for even the smallest thing such as enough food to eat, will help bring more things into your life for which you can express gratitude.

Think of five things every day that you are grateful for. Write them down. And express thanks that these are in your life.

New Moon — New Beginnings

Today is the New Moon, the time for new beginnings. It is the perfect time to plant the seeds of your future. I suggest you perform a New Moon Prosperity ritual every New Moon if possible. It is the most powerful if you do it within 24 hours after the New Moon.

As part of my process, I made some Blank Prosperity Checks to use to write checks from the Universe to myself. I made them look like the bank checks we are accustomed to seeing. There are three checks on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. Here is what they look like: Continue reading

New Moon in Taurus — Prosperity Ritual

I have encouraged you to do a prosperity ritual at the New Moon for several years now. Today’s New Moon is in Taurus, the second house of the zodiac, traditionally the house of money, wealth, income, etc. It is a particularly powerful time to do a prosperity ritual and practice feeling prosperous.

As part of my process, I made some Blank Prosperity Checks to use to write checks from the Universe to myself. I made them look like the bank checks we are accustomed to seeing. There are three checks on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. Here is what they look like: Continue reading

New Years Bring New Opportunities

Every new year sees us making resolutions about things we want to change, or do differently in the future. Obviously, a new year is no different from a new day or a new hour. We can choose any moment in our lives to go forward in a new fashion.

We don’t have to wait for a new year to start a new life. Every single moment we have in the now is an opportunity to change our lives. However, many people see New Year’s, birthdays and other anniversaries as points of new beginnings. Whether it is for the new year or just because you’ve decided to change your life, you can start a new here and now.

I suggest that you sit down and make a list of the things you would like to change in your life. Perhaps make two columns; one column for how things are now and the second column for how you want them to be. If your list is long, try to only tackle one or two things at a time. Once you get those things under control, then address a new item on the list.

The Perception Of Consciousness

Here is a GREAT video, featuring David Lynch, Wyane Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Gregg Braden and more. They explain in ten minutes that the substance of the universe is consciousness. They tell us we only have fear when we believe that the substance of the universe is matter.

This Matrix is so incredible!

Thanksgiving – George Winston

Once again we are celebrating Thanksgiving in the United States. It is a long tradition of turkey, stuffing and various casseroles consumed by various families with different traditions. Eating too much, taking a nap and perhaps a family squabble or two thrown in.

I like the idea of stopping and appreciating, being grateful for how wonderful our lives are. We have created this complex illusion out of consciousness. We should express our gratitude for this reality we’ve created — the joyous parts and the parts that have given us pause. The negative parts show us what we don’t want so we can work on creating differently.

All of our creation is a testament to our magnificence and the magnificence of Consciousness.

I invite you to watch/listen to this beautiful music video and think of the many things in your life for which you can give your thanks.

Rules of the Game — Part Three

3. The people who decide to make their own rules and take responsibility for the reality they create.

These people understand that all “rules” are artificial creations that result from a person’s beliefs becoming harder and more solidified. What ever you believe, whether it is supported by hope or fear, will dominate your life and appear real. It will become an opportunity or an obstacle, depending on the emotion you charge it with.

This approach to life is much more powerful than types one and two. It recognizes that all rules are basically arbitrary. Whether the rule is something like “you can’t wear white after Labor Day” or the various rules of games or was that are still on the books of most U. S. States (visit http://www.bitoffun.com/stupid_laws.htm) for examples) or the rules that say members of various religions are required to cut their hair, grow their hair, cover their hair, etc.

Rules of the Game — Part Two

2. The people who want to find find out what all the “rules” are so they can BREAK them.

These are people who have major issues with authority. They don’t care who the authority is, they just don’t want to be subject to someone else’s rules.

As a teenager, I did the “rebellion-as-rite-of-passage” routine. I didn’t trust anyone over 30. I saw all rules as bogus ways to to repress the creativity and freedom of young people. I’m part of the generation that rebelled politically in 1968, held Woodstock in 1969 and marched against the War our leaders pursued in the 60s and 70s. Rebellion and questioning authority were predominant themes during my teens and twenties.

A good side of this approach is that it fosters freedom, openness, creativity and breakthroughs. Continue reading

Rules of the Game — Part One

For a long time, I have believed that there are three kinds of people in the world. Perhaps a better way to put it is that people tend to take one of three different approaches to life.

1. The people who want to find find out what all the “rules” are so they can FOLLOW them.

These are people who want the comfort of a very specific set of rules — be they religious, legal, etc. If they know what the rules are, they can conform and be “safe.”

As a child, I definitely fell into this category. I grew up with parents who were prone to anger and rage, so I struggled to figure out all the rules in order not to trigger their anger. I was also wanting to hear that they thought I was a “Good Girl” so I was learning the rules so I could follow them and (hopefully) get their approval.

A good side of this approach is that it helps maintain a certain amount of order. The down side is a lack of creativity, a lack of questioning or at least asking the important questions about what would happen if we break those rules — scientifically, artistically, spiritually.

An interesting “side-effect” of this approach Continue reading
