New Years Bring New Opportunities

Every new year sees us making resolutions about things we want to change, or do differently in the future. Obviously, a new year is no different from a new day or a new hour. We can choose any moment in our lives to go forward in a new fashion.

We don’t have to wait for a new year to start a new life. Every single moment we have in the now is an opportunity to change our lives. However, many people see New Year’s, birthdays and other anniversaries as points of new beginnings. Whether it is for the new year or just because you’ve decided to change your life, you can start a new here and now.

I suggest that you sit down and make a list of the things you would like to change in your life. Perhaps make two columns; one column for how things are now and the second column for how you want them to be. If your list is long, try to only tackle one or two things at a time. Once you get those things under control, then address a new item on the list.

New Moon Eclipse — Gratitude Ritual

Today is the New Moon, the time for new beginnings. There is also an Annular Solar Eclipse today. Eclipses bring change. New beginnings are a form of change. The eclipse should add more power and energy to changes and rituals.

It is the perfect time to plant the seeds of your future. I suggest you perform a New Moon Prosperity ritual every New Moon if possible. It is the most powerful if you do it within 24 hours after the New Moon.

One of the best things you can do if you are wanting to manifest more is to be grateful for what you have. The act of sincere gratitude, appreciation and thanks focuses your attention on your blessings and bounty. As you know by now, you get more of what you focus upon.

As part of my process, I made some Blank Prosperity Checks to use to write checks from the Universe to myself. I made them look like the bank checks we are accustomed to seeing. There are three checks on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. Here is what they look like: Continue reading

What Is A New Year’s Day Celebration?

A New Year’s Day Celebration is a time of reflection, happiness, excitement, and acceptance of what you have accomplished in the year that is ending and anticipation of wonderful opportunities, experiences and relationships you want to attract into your life in the new year.

I always celebrate New Year’s on my birthday. A long time ago I decided to gauge my progress through my age because that’s what my parents did while I was growing up. I think they did it because of the adage “as we get older we get wiser and better.” I know for certain that most of us do this to a certain extent and there are both positive and negative benefits of this practice. The positive benefit is we stay focused on the wonderful things we want to accomplish. The negative benefit is we may get caught up in the attaining the goal and forget to acknowledge the little things we get to experience along the way.

I remember many years of my mom crying on her birthday Continue reading

Elephant in The Dark

The “Elephant in the Dark” is a traditional Sufi story that vividly shows our approach to life. In the story a traveling exhibition of an elephant was being stabled near a town. Four men decide to investigate this phenomenon since none had ever seen an elephant before. When they arrive, the stable is dark and this forced the men to investigate the appearance of the animal through the use of their hands. One felt its trunk and concluded it looked like a hosepipe. The second felt its ear and concluded it must look like a fan. The third felt its leg and thought it must look like a living pillar and finally the fourth feeling its back knew for sure an elephant must look like a throne. When you add that all up you get a throne sitting on top of a living pillar equipped with a fan and hosepipe.

How Perceptions Shade Your Reality

Perceptions are an awareness of elements in an environment (culture, home, society) through physical sensation and mental and intuitive comprehension.

As I was growing up, I perceived that if I went to school, got a job, and worked my way up, I would have a happy and successful life.  I perceived that if I stood up to my managers and told them that they were not treating their employees like people but rather like robots, things would change and I would be thanked for my candor and insight.  I perceived if I was honest and told people what I thought about life they would accept me with open arms.

I also perceived women were evil and dangerous because of Eve.  I perceived Adam was neither a very bright nor a good person.  I perceived I was unattractive, pretty, fat, goofy, smart, dumb, naïve, nice, mean, stiff, arrogant, happy and sad.  But I also I perceived I was not good enough…. Perceptions, the biggest enemy of all, can lead us down the garden path of doubt, uncertainty, emptiness, hostility, longing and middle class mediocrity.

From where do we get these perceptions of who we are?   Continue reading

Getting What You Asked For

In April of 2001, I had just taken my Spiritual Response Therapy Classes with Robert Detzler and was on a super high.  I was beginning to take control of my life.  I’d learned how to clear negative energies, research past life patterns that were in my way of living a fulfilling life.  Life was clearer!  When I returned to work, I took my charts with me because I’d become addicted to asking questions, clearing energies and feeling good.  I would go in my office, close my door and just work on myself.  What about clearing for a new job?  How about clearing for a wonderful relationship?  What do I need to clear about my boss so I wouldn’t be so miserable?

I hated my university job.  I was not given any real leeway to be creative and innovative and was told by my bosses to, literally, do nothing.  I was in career development in charge of placing graduate students in corporate positions.  This meant I had to go to companies and convince them to hire our students for internships and permanent positions.  Because we had a high concentration of international students, this was a pretty challenging assignment.  In order to convince companies to hire non US students, I had to create ways for companies to see the advantages of hiring our internationals.

I had very little to work with and was handicapped because I wasn’t allowed to be creative.  I would go to meetings where, Charlie Brown’s teacher must have surely been present, “Wonk, Wa Wonk Wonk…”  You’ve got to be kidding me!  This is what I went to school for?  To be brain drained and waiting to retire!?!   There were days when I’d arrive at work and just stare at the doors trying to will myself to just walk through them and take the elevator to my floor.  “Come on, Shirlyn, just go in…you can do it.”

How to Start Our Journey of Realization – Part 2

Is the world really what we have been told it is?  Are we really any of these identities?  Is the noise Truth?  No.  They are social mechanisms designed take us outside ourselves so that we become completely dependent upon everything external.

These mechanisms makes it is easier for us to identify ourselves to the outside world.   We use this mechanism to better identify others.  It then becomes easier to “read” and understand people.  We can make sense of the world because we have these ready made descriptive boxes to pull out in which to fit people and circumstances.

We believe that words of others are who we really are; we are conditioned to trust the social descriptions as our true nature and being.  We take ownership of these descriptions.  We become these verbs and adjectives.   We become what others tell us we should be.  We have been completely brainwashed and conditioned to believe what we are told.  We live externally, outside ourselves.

Who am I?  What am I?  Why do I have this life?  Is this life all there is?  What is love?  Why am I afraid?  Where do I find peace?  How can I achieve happiness?  How do I change my life?  These are only a handful of questions we think about from time to time.  We are conditioned to look everywhere outside ourselves to find the answers to these questions.

How to Start Our Journey of Realization – Part 1

“He who knows God as the Life of the life, the Eye of the eye, the Ear of the ear, the Mind of the mind, he indeed comprehends fully the Cause of all causes”, (Sukla Yajur Veda, Brihadaranyuaka Upanishad 4.4.24, UPP).

“To realize the highest Absolute as one’s very own and to constantly feel that this realization is not something you have actually achieved, but something you eternally are – that is called realization….”Sri Chinmoy , Samadhi and Siddhi.

Realization or, what some would call, enlightenment is a rocky and challenging journey.  Why?  Because the journey entails us to not only become one with Spirit, but also to realize we are Spirit.  This realization involves dismantling the world as we have come to know and are completely comfortable with.  Dismantling, first, involves stripping ourselves of all beliefs, thoughts, knowledge and understandings about life. These are the things we have been told, guided and conditioned to be and have learned to be dependent upon to give us our frame of reference.  They are the way we make sense and understand the world.

Here are a few examples of these limiting beliefs:   We must suffer and sacrifice in order to move ahead in life.  There is good and evil in the world.  Only trust your priest/politician/school teacher.  The more money you have the better off you are.  Disease is a common plight we must live with.  We must live with pain and discomfort especially the older we get.  Poverty is a natural occurrence.  What you see, hear, taste, smell and feel are real.  Some people are lucky.  Physical beauty is important.

Change is With You

by JonMark

I received this from Spirit on 14 September 2008.

Breathe with us for a moment and allow your mind to entertain the idea of there being a new form of energy around you and soon to be running through you. When we say through you, we mean on all levels, in all dimensions and all times.

Know that the healing you seek is but a thought away. Know that the prosperity you seek is but a thought a way. Know that a new love that you seek is only a thought away. So we ask you now, what are you thinking? Wherein do your thoughts lay?

We know you realize and you have all heard for many years now that you exist in only but one dimension of hundreds upon thousand of dimensions. There are not just 12, there are not just 100 there are more than you can count. Whether you believe it or not does not change any of this, for what is, IS.

Many modern day prophets cry out that your lives are about to change over these next few days, weeks, months and even years. In fact, we do not know of a time when change is not happening somewhere in the sphere of your being. Your very cells are changing this very instant. Your brain cells are working overtime as you read this trying to comprehend where we are going next, what thought will be next.
