What Would Hera, Venus and Bast Say? – Part 1

Be like the gods and laugh at yourselves!

I remember reading this or something like it years ago and not quite understanding the full meaning of the quote. I kind of got that it meant not to take life so seriously, but a 20 year old always takes her/himself seriously. Twenty year olds are at a juncture in their journey where everything is done in serious earnest. Now that I am older I take every opportunity to laugh at myself: my need to be right; the need to be perfect; any perceived indignation; and my judgment of others.

However what else do I need to learn? My friend Eve and I were having lunch musing over what the Goddess from all the ancient cultures would have to say about some of the things we worry ourselves with during the course of a day and what is really important about life. Here’s a part of our dream conversation with the Ancients.

Shirlyn: “Will I ever find the love of my life?”
Goddesses: “A more fitting question is will your love ever be able to catch up with you! Go live a full life and love will always find you!”

Your Sounds of Creation

By guest writer Kiwidolphin

Dolphins can help teach us the joy of sound.

Having a keen interest in dolphins, I looked up the dolphin totem at Lin’s Domain—a site I enjoy visiting whenever animal symbols crop up in my life. Here are snatches from the four paragraphs about dolphins:

A Dolphin totem can show you how to enter
the waters of life and then, with breath and sound,
call forth what you most need or desire.

Sound is the creative life force.
Learn to create inner sounds so that you can create outer manifestations.

At first, the “panic button” part of my mind—the one that wants to provide a watertight solution NOW (because I should have already done this!)—started blathering: “I should go buy that CD about chanting that’s been sitting on my list forever. I should start saying mantras. I should go read some research about sound healing. I need to do more breath exercises. And what does it mean by inner sounds???”

A Disturbance in The Force

The earthquake in Haiti represented what I call a disturbance in the force, borrowing a Star Wars reference. When the earthquake hit, a number of people including myself had a physical reaction. People experienced nausea, headaches, and pains in their bodies. At first I thought my headache had to do with something with Spirit and some kind of expansion going on in consciousness. So I cleared and healed myself asking that any new information and expansion would be applied for my highest good. The ache in my head would go away but within an hour or two the dull pain returned.

I was aware of the Haiti situation but didn’t make a connection between my headache and the suffering of hundreds of thousand of people, the land, and the ocean. When I did, I saw a hole in the energetic pattern of our world. Fear, suffering, panic, grief, anxiety, terror, self-punishment, cruelty and hopelessness swept over our planet faster than the speed of light. My headache wasn’t going away because healing, clearing and heart balancing needed to be applied to Haiti. This was my High Self’s way of letting me know that I, and others, had work to do NOW.

My Beautiful Inner Source

By guest writer Kiwidolphin

On New Year’s Day, my husband and I agreed that the best use of my time during January would be to focus on our biggest, juiciest dreams for 2010.

We had started in November, by writing down our top five mutual dreams. We had already put quite a bit of love energy into it during the late stages of 2009, but now we decided to super-commit. My husband would continue bringing home the major paycheck while I went on sabbatical from my career for one month.

It’s now Day 25 and I could write a book about everything I’ve learned so far. As a workaholic and over-achiever, it has been mind-expanding to put aside my “Productivity with a capital P” mode and explore my most magical dreams (which, as I found out, were not even related to the creative career I’ve been devoted to for the past ten years).

I’ve discovered many fun and joyous ways to express myself in this new arena. By far one of the most rewarding has been connecting with my Beautiful Inner Source.

As part of cultivating joyful thoughts to empower our dreams and goals for 2010, I’ve been playing with the Abraham-Hicks card deck, Ask and It Is Given. “First, I Reach for Joy, and All Else Follows” is propped on my desk where I can see it every day. So is “Absolute Well-Being is the Basis of My Universe.” But the one I kept front and center was:

“I Am Becoming Consciously Aware of My Inner Being” Continue reading

Beyond Forgiveness

Is forgiveness a necessary step towards healing ourselves from real and perceived hurts? We have been told that the process of forgiving and not forgiving is really a matter of choosing how quickly we want to learn our lessons about love, compassion, attaining happiness, being aware of our feelings and staying present in all areas of our lives. But this is only part of healing ourselves.

Why do most of us choose to forgive some situations? We want to feel good about ourselves, an apology is given, we are already aware of why the conflict occurred in the first place or there was a misunderstanding that led to the conflict and we are willing to let it go.

Then there are times when and many reasons why we find it challenging to forgive. For instance, we may feel we have a right or are justified to be a victim, we may try to seek revenge, or we might try to use these situations to emotionally blackmail the person who caused the harm.

When we choose to forgive or not to forgive, most of us only focus on what we will get out of it; we make forgiveness a selfish motivation. We don’t look beyond the act of forgiveness to see the spiritual impetus for the experiences that have caused us to feel hurt, pain, bitterness or resentment. We also don’t always recognize the how and why we may have attracted these situations in the first place.

So how do we move past these negative motivations and really begin healing ourselves? Continue reading

The Heart Chakra Region – Divine Love and Deep Connection

The Heart Chakra Region of the body allows us to channel, draw in and anchor love into our physical environment and experiences. In the Solar Plexus Region article I stated we are here to fully express our talents, gifts and our own uniqueness. Well, how do we move forward in developing these gifts and talents? How do we become comfortable with ourselves to be unique, creative and have our own viewpoints?

We do this first by having an awareness that we are the energy of love having been created by Spirit out of love, with love and for the full expression of love. Secondly, we have to develop a realization that we are all a different expression of the One and therefore deeply and intricately connected to each other. Thirdly, we must love and accept ourselves fully, completely and unconditionally.

The two strongest and opposing energies in the universe are fear and love. Fear holds us back, restricts our progress, makes us doubt ourselves, and disconnects us from our divine connection and purpose in life. Fear makes us scared to live, face our challenges and be open and vulnerable enough to love.

I Have a Dream – Multimedia

In honor of Dr. Marin Luther King’s birthday, I wanted to post his “I Have a Dream” speech. Dr. King was so eloquent in pointing out how tragic it is when one group of people is not allowed to participate in the fullness of society. When we do not allow a group of people to benefit from the “gifts” of our society, we also do not allow our society to benefit from the gifts of those disenfranchised people.

We are all connected – Black, White, Brown, Yellow – Male, Female – Gay, Straight – Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, Wiccan, Agnostic, Atheist – Old, Young and In-Between. We are all part of the same Source. We are pure source energy and those things like race, religion, gender, age and sexual orientation are only illusions of difference, like costumes we wear in this incarnation.

In our various incarnations, we have all been all of these things. For us to identify with our current physical circumstances so strongly that we do not see everyone as our brothers and sisters on this journey is a source of great sadness.

Dr. King spoke up for African-Americans and helped inspire changes in our culture that lead us to our first African-American President of the United States. Of course, we still have far to go in providing full access to the privileges of this country to everyone, but we can point to some progress.

I have a dream that someday we will not use race, gender, age, religion, handicap or sexual orientation to discriminate against anyone.

In that light, here is Dr. King’s inspiring speech.

New Moon Eclipse — Gratitude Ritual

Today is the New Moon, the time for new beginnings. There is also an Annular Solar Eclipse today. Eclipses bring change. New beginnings are a form of change. The eclipse should add more power and energy to changes and rituals.

It is the perfect time to plant the seeds of your future. I suggest you perform a New Moon Prosperity ritual every New Moon if possible. It is the most powerful if you do it within 24 hours after the New Moon.

One of the best things you can do if you are wanting to manifest more is to be grateful for what you have. The act of sincere gratitude, appreciation and thanks focuses your attention on your blessings and bounty. As you know by now, you get more of what you focus upon.

As part of my process, I made some Blank Prosperity Checks to use to write checks from the Universe to myself. I made them look like the bank checks we are accustomed to seeing. There are three checks on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. Here is what they look like: Continue reading

Luminous Beings in Disguise

For a long time (over 30 years) my guides have referred to us as Luminous Beings. They say we are all luminous, every one of us. I thought understood what they were saying, related to our true nature being energy, etc.

Recently I have had a different notion about it. I realize that what my guides were saying is literally true. It is not a metaphor or a nice image. We really are Luminous Beings.

I was watching a David Wilcock video and he referred to our luminous bodies as being who we really are. He also gave some physical description of our luminous bodies. Something in his description caused me to access a “knowing” within me that started over 30 years ago.

Your Most Important Decision

Albert Einstein famously said that the most important decision someone will ever make is whether (s)he lives in a friendly universe or a hostile universe. Every time I revisit that notion, I find a deeper meaning to it.

That fundamental decision colors your entire world. Your life experience will be drastically different if you choose one over the other. Your beliefs (chronic thoughts) shape your reality. Partially from the angle of the prism you look through, and totally because of the harmonic resonance of those beliefs.

A good example of harmonic resonance is with pianos. Put two properly tuned pianos in a room, and hit the middle ‘c’ key on one of them. Check the other piano and you will see the string for middle ‘c’ is also vibrating on it. Continue reading
